I Just Made This Template For People To Use To Make Skins Specifically For The Alex Model.

It's because your skin is not in the 1.8 skin format, which allows separate textures for arms and legs. Minecraft is reading the leg texture on your skin as the right leg, and the arm texture as the right arm, so those are rendered properly.
